Backwoods Queen
04:20
|
|
||
Well I met her back in Sawmill town
On the corner of couple dirty streets
She was a dancin’, stompin’ the ground
It was quite a site to see
Now we’ve done traveled many a mile
She hasn’t yet left my side
she always keeps a smile
Ain’t no trouble on her mind
I tell you that my pretty little woman
is a bona fide backwoods Queen
And when she starts to moving
it’s the prettiest thing I’ve seen
I tell you that that my pretty little woman
is a bona fide backwoods queen
I don’t know what I was doing
Before my lady hit the scene
About 4 months after the sawmill
We moved on down to the south
I was in a bar on the hill
When I opened up my mouth
Them rednecks had me on the floor
Hittin’ kickin’ lawd it wa’n’t no fun.
But don’t you know who kick down the door
It was my outlaw lady with a gun
We ended up down in the swamplands
Livin off chicken and rice
Workin on a farm for a rich man
Lawd things were getting nice
But one day when I went home
That little lady was nowhere in sight
But once I started feeling alone
In come my backwoods queen with something to bite
I don’t know what I was doing before my lady hit the scene

Livin' in a Cave
03:46
|
|
||
Bout about a 30 min walk up the holler
There live a man aint got no dollar
Lawd the I.R.S. done took all he made
Now hes up livin’ in a cave
He was out on the g.i. Bill started truckin on the interstate
But no doubt, as fellers will, he started fuckin round’ with fate
Started ‘portin’ dope cross the state line, thought he was real slick
But he couldn’t cope with the big ole fine, that he was slapped with real quick.
Late at night you’ll see him around, bummin ‘round the bars
But you’d never see him on the ground, sleepin ‘neath the stars
Some say he lives off squirrel and homemade brew
But I can’t say for certain is any of thats true
I reckon he must have seen some things, fightin in the war
He was beckoned by the king, to leave his native shore
He said he felt like pawn in a game of chess
But when he got home, his mind was such a mess

I can’t go back,
I can’t go back,
My wheels done slipped off of the track / separated from the pack
& I can’t go back.
I foreseen the quarantine bout a month before,
I bought ‘em clean of rice & bean, gotta stock my hoard.
It’s been feeling like a dream, each day more and more
Gettin’ lean, and tired and mean, startin’ to lock my doors.
If I said I ain’t stir crazy you know thats a lie.
But if couldn’t bet on feelin’ free, back workin’ for the man no more.
I can’t go back,
I can’t go back,
My wheels done slipped off of the track / separated from the pack
& I can’t go back.
Government gave us some money, first time since the war.
If I was smart I’d ‘draw it all, stuff it in my drawer.
The airs been feelin so funny, what else mores in store?
If your astral charts, were right at all, you’d see were due for more.
Don’t ask me why im lazy, its cause the end is nigh
Because a threat, that we can’t see, has landed on our shores.
I can’t go back,
I can’t go back,
My wheels done slipped off of the track / separated from the pack
& I can’t go back.

Goin down to the river darlin

Come on over to my place

Come on over to my place darlin

Here comes the man mr. landlord
Gonna bitch and whine
Here comes the man now buddy
Gonna waste my time
No money no vehicle
Can't even try
Make the money aint got no method
No one to buy
Oh, burn out blues
goin down to the river
gonna have a good time
goin down to the river darlin
I think its time to unwind
oh burn out blues
oh burn out blues

The Oldest House in Town
04:20
|
|
||
Well when I was a young man
there was an old old house
where my friend and his daddy used to live
Well it may not have been their land
But it felt like home no doubt
we’d all meetup there when we were kids
They say its the oldest house in town
And now they’re gonna tear it down
build a new subdivision
Someone oughta go to prison
Cause Its the oldest house around
Where we used to stomp the ground
Well I guess what good is history after all?
Behind the house was a river
Where we would all raise hell
Howlin at the moon, swinging from the vines
Might have been bad our livers
But we lived through it to tell
Bout All those hazy afternoons, drinking sweet berry wine
Many have said there lives some ghosts
Among the houses’ walls
Even I felt spirits pass me by
But now I hope those same dead folks
Who haunt them old old halls
Will plague those developers’ minds

Gather ‘round boys, we’ve got a problem here
One that your off-shore account will hold dear
Don’t you see the masses swelli’n
Yet we find that we aint sellin
Listen up boys, heres the plan and lets make it clear
If we can thin the herd
The margins’ll be absurd
Keep em free, and they’ll round the curve
They'll be satisfied
with thick wool over their eyes
And deny that chinese virus till they die
Just call the flock essential
They'll waive threats so existential
From harvest calmly to a slaughter so gentle
Take a look boys and have a vic’try dance
Nature jigs for our dime while we TAKE the chance
Goad them off their reason
Don’t you know its flu season
Fret not the death toll its mere happenstance
Help dispel the pesky notion
All the lies beyond the ocean
Aint real to me, so get on with the commotion
A pathogen’s natures sin
Best to simply soothe the din
No masks, but here’s some bodybags and vict’ry gin
Let free spirits dance together
Open the beach or face the weather
We do it all for you and yours, now and forever
Gather ‘round boys, we’ve got a problem here
One that your off-shore account will hold dear
Don’t you see the masses swelli’n
Yet we find that we aint sellin
Listen up boys, heres the plan and lets make it clear
Tell you what, thats the plan, we’re in the clear

Florida Man
02:47
|
|
||
You see me on the news
I been feeling the blues
They put me down in jail
Everybody watch me fail
life is short down in Florida
When you're living the life of sin
Don't get caught down in Florida
Or you'll be a Florida man
I been living in motel six
Gettin' that big ole bed bug itch
If you run up in my place
We gonna peel and eat your face
The Atlantic ocean is Rollin in
Gon be threatenen them Florida men
You know they gonna be moving north
So you better go lock your doors

Early in the morning it was sixty degrees
there was a slight breeze
That was bringing the bees
I was working, on my knees
Rolled up a number
And then maybe another
While laying under cover
Of the old oak tree, the mother
Drove up to town for somethin’ to do
Ridin' with my dog his name is blue
Hangin with the boys on the old avenue
But b’fore its too late, I’m gonna send it back home to you.
The very next day
I was bailin’ the hay
Tryna make a lil pay
But lord there gotta be a better way
Workin by the hour
Then go home and take a shower
Burn a little flower
But you won’t catch me livin’ in no ivory tower
No barroom could replace the love that I receive at home
No city light could shine as bright as the light above my throne
Maybe in another life I could’ve been an urbanite
But out here living with my wife is where I spend my nights

Reborn

Reborn...
Reborn…
Never thought I’d see the day
I’d catch myself welding my own chain
I’ve rarely fought against the grain
Chaos stricken I spiraled again
Reborn, Freeborn, Reformed baby and ready to ride
Freeborn, Cause I’m Reborn, Reborn baby and can’t be denied
To be present I was unable
adding stalls to an empty stable
Just a peasant under the table
I risked it all just to shed the label
You can let it eat you up, you can choose to let it roll
A little sunshine in your cup, tell those blues just to take a stroll
Don’t let nothin’ interupt, the music in your soul
Prayed for freedom for so long
But I found out that I was doing it wrong
Heard the strumming coming along
I knew I’d finally get to write that song

Goodbye 2020
03:05
|
|
||
It certainly was memorable
Won’t likely soon forget it
It surely wasn’t pleasurable
Watching all them fools spread it
Don’t you miss the smiles
Maybe get a little bit weepy
Walkin’ down them grocery aisles
Lookin for goddamn TP!
So goodbye 2020
It wasn’t good to know ya
Yeah goodbye 2020
Its been constant paranoia
Thought I was a goner
Quarter of a million dead
From the 19 of coroner
Wish I’d stayed in bed
Then there was the election
The years most the important night
The start of the ejection
Of the so called King of the Reich
He’s doing all he can
Tryna maintain his power
A hoodwink to our country man
Aint been our finest hour
So goodbye 2020
Its been a wild ride
Yeah goodbye 2020
Stripped away my pride
Thought I was a goner
Quarter of a million dead
From the 19 of corona
Wish I’d stayed in bed
